Hero's Birthday

April 15 is the birthday of Hugh Thompson, arguably the bravest American to serve in Vietnam. He was hardly the only brave American in that star-crossed war but he is the only one I know who risked his life to protect Vietnamese civilians from Americans.

Hugh Thompson's actions salvage what little honor can be had in war.
